Regent Seven Seas Cruises is a luxury cruise line that is all-inclusive. It even includes shore excursions, as many as you can fit in. They do charge a nominal fee for some of their more extensive excursions. Gratuities, fancy coffee, sodas and alcoholic beverages are all included in your cruise cost. You will incur extra charges for internet usage, shopping in the ship boutiques, photos, spa treatments and very high end spirits.
Until recently Regent had three ships, the Mariner, the Navigator, and the Voyager which vary from a guest capacity of 500 to 700 passengers. The Regent Seven Seas Explorer joined the fleet on the summer of 2016 with 750 guests. Guest comments about the Explorer have been very favorable so the new, larger ship is definitely a hit! With smaller ships come all the pluses that go along with that size vessel – ability to visit smaller ports, less crew and guests makes it easier to meet fellow passengers and crew members, everything onboard is nearby, better food because the culinary staff is serving less guests.
Activities on board the Regent ships range from computer time to library time to pool time to using the gym, the whirlpools, shuffleboard/table tennis, working on your golf swing or putting, and enjoying spa and salon treatments. Their spa services are handled by the well-known Canyon Ranch®. The Compass Rose restaurant offers healthy spa cuisine. Every voyage has a number of enriching activities and culinary classes also. Each ship has a casino, smoking room/cigar lounge, gift shops, a theatre with production shows, a nightclub and smaller venues for dancing and listening to music. There is also a youth program for younger guests, broken down by age groups.
Cuisine on Regent cruises is superb. It’s all open seating with a resort casual dress code although many still prefer to dress in the evenings. Canyon Ranch Spa Club®, kosher, vegetarian, and continental specialties are always available and room service runs 24/7. Prime 7 is their elegant steak house which also features Maine lobster and other seafood. Signatures is authentic French cuisine whose specialties might include Quiche au Camembert, Foie Gras Terrine, and Magret Duck Fillet. And La Veranda is where you will enjoy a buffet breakfast and lunch. Local dishes from the destinations you visit are also featured there. And, every evening La Veranda becomes Sette Mari with delicious Italian specialties and wines. Nightly specials might offer Minestrone soup, Spaghetti Alla Carbonara, Veal Scaloppini or Osso Buco.
